  • Kids Crafts led by Downtown Aurora Visual Arts
  • Art Exhibit Reception: When Will They See Us? Tya Anthony, Rochelle Johnson, Autumn Thomas, Ella Maria Ray, and Brigitte Thompson shine a light on contemporary issue of Black women artists.
  • Special Guest: Comedian Sam Adams
  • Food for purchase from Big Jim’s Barbeque

 

4:00pm

  • Movie and Popcorn: Akeelah and the Bee, an inspirational film about an 11-year-old girl with a gift for words from South Los Angeles who participates in the Scripps National Spelling Bee, overcoming difficult challenges along the way. This is a non-ticketed event. No reservations are necessary.
