The PSO will present a concert of symphonic works, all of which were composed by women, from the time of Mozart through the twentieth century. February is Black History Month, and one of our featured composers is Florence Price, a truly gifted black woman. You will be amazed at the beauty of her music, and be moved to learn about the obstacles she overcame to fulfill her passion of being a composer.

About the Parker Symphony Orchestra
The Parker Symphony Orchestra is Parker’s community orchestra, performing amazing classical music at the PACE Center. They were founded in 1994 as the South Suburban Community Orchestra, but with their first concert at the PACE Center in 2011, they officially became the Parker Symphony Orchestra. Highlights from past seasons at PACE include collaborations with the Legend High School choir, holiday concerts with the Parker Chorale, children’s concerts with the Young Voices of Colorado, a Veteran’s Day concert featuring the Colorado Mormon Chorale, and numerous professional guest soloists. As a Parker Arts presenting partner, they offer musical programs designed to encourage the people of Parker to explore classical music in new ways, including listening to new styles and unfamiliar composers. They hope to inspire people of all ages to pick up and play music themselves. They also give local musicians a venue to perform with other music-lovers and give youth groups, such as Young Voices of Colorado, the opportunity to perform with a full orchestra. In addition to performances, the Parker Symphony Orchestra has an active outreach program that is proud to help support local school music programs. There are also several groups within the organization that perform for senior communities throughout the year. To learn more about the Parker Symphony Orchestra, CLICK HERE.
